Accommodating your Group

The Cottage

Cèilidh Cottage has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and comprises three levels – First Floor, Second Floor and Basement. The cottage has 8 beds and can accommodate 10 guests. Guests have access to the entire property. 

  • The First Floor has the living, dining and kitchen areas, one bedroom with a connected full bath and easy access to the covered front porch and the large back deck.
  • The Second Floor has four bedrooms, each equipped with individual sinks, as well as one full bathroom. This top floor also has a small screened-in porch with a cafe-style dining table. Upper-floor bedrooms have enchanting views of surrounding forests 
  • The Basement has a gathering space with television, surround sound system and a foosball table. Connected are a full bathroom with a sink, toilet, and walk-in shower, as well as a laundry room with a washer and dryer. Be aware the basement has low ceilings.

The home has keyless entry, two exterior cameras, smoke detectors in all bedrooms, back-up smoke detectors on each floor, carbon monoxide monitors, fire extinguishers and an alarm system.

Important Notes and House Rules

  • The cottage is pet-friendly. As such it may not be suitable for those with allergies. Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture.
  • Like many homes in Montreat, Cèilidh Cottage has many stairs and is not handicap-accessible.
  • Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the property. 
  • Parties are prohibited.
  • Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am.
  • Trash bins at the road must remained secured at all times.
  • Garbage and food should not be left unattended outside at any time

Sleeping Accommodations

Cèilidh Cottage has 5 bedrooms and 9 beds. The home can accommodate up to 10 people. A few important notes:

  • New mattresses are in place as of 2023. 
  • The second floor bedrooms (4) each have an in-room sink.
  • Sheets and towels are provided. Each bed has a mattress pad and mattress protector already on the bed. Sets of sheets will be either folded on each bed or in a drawer below the bed.
  • Please do not allow pets on the beds.

Parking

  • Please park on the side of the street in front of the house, which fits 2 to 3 cars. 
  • Additional parking is available in the lot at Montreat Conference Center’s Anderson Auditorium (5 minute walk). 
  • Be mindful of our neighbor Mari’s house (yellow house across the street), and do not block her driveway. 
  • Park vehicles as close to the stone wall as possible, so Mari can get in and out of her driveway, and so emergency vehicles can still pass. 
  • Cars should be parked beginning at the green metal trash and recycling bins (with ”215 Alabama” on the side). 
  • Do not park in front of the neighbors’ homes or their stairs.
  • If your group has large SUVs, a passenger van or a small bus, these vehicles may have difficulty fitting in front of the house. We strongly encourage our guests to plan ahead and park large vehicles at Anderson Auditorium during the length of their stay.
